On Saturday, December 5, 2026, Crozet holds three events at once. The fifth annual Holiday Market Crawl fills downtown. The Crozet Christmas Parade steps off at 2 p.m. The eighth annual Crozet Winter Brews & Booze Festival runs from noon to 5 p.m. at Crozet Park. All three overlap in the same afternoon, so you can't simply do one after another. The festival runs a free shuttle that stops at Piedmont Place, which is the downtown cluster where the crawl's vendors gather. Plan your day around that shuttle and you can fit in all three.
Three Events on One Afternoon
Here is how the three schedules overlap, using what each organizer has published so far.
| Event | Where | When | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Holiday Market Crawl | Downtown Crozet businesses | Saturday, December 5 | Free to browse |
| Crozet Christmas Parade | Downtown, ending at the firehouse | 2 p.m. | Free |
| Winter Brews & Booze Festival | Crozet Park, 1075 Claudius Crozet Park | Noon to 5 p.m. | Free entry; $35 tasting ticket |
Bluebird & Co. organizes the crawl and hasn't posted 2026 hours yet. Its Holiday Market page gives the date and invites people to "spend the day with us in Crozet" and keep their holiday spending with downtown businesses. Bluebird's own Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., so that's a reasonable guess for the morning-to-afternoon window until the crawl schedule comes out.
As the table shows, the parade starts two hours after the festival opens, and the festival closes about an hour after shops on Bluebird's hours do. You'll need to decide what comes first.
The Shuttle Covers the Whole Day
The Crozet Winter Brews Festival offers free rides through Cville Hop On Tours. Pickups are at IX Art Park in downtown Charlottesville, at Old Trail and at Piedmont Place in Crozet. Return trips run two ways, from Crozet Park back to IX and from Crozet Park to Piedmont Place and then Old Trail. Every rider needs a reservation, and the festival says sign-up links go live in November 2026.
The crawl has used Piedmont Place as a vendor hub, so you can shop there, ride to the park and ride back to the same lot. You never have to look for parking a second time. For people who live in Old Trail, the shuttle connects home, downtown and the park on one ticket-free loop.
Old Trail matters as a stop beyond this one Saturday. In October 2026 the Crozet Gazette reported that Grape & Grain Exchange plans a second location in Old Trail Village. It's a 1,300-square-foot wine shop with tastings and events, targeting a January 2027 opening. The same article says Nelson Scoops is leasing 1,279 square feet in that development. By next December, the Old Trail stop will be closer to the action than it is this year.
Morning Belongs to the Crawl
The crawl has grown quickly, and the 2025 version gives a sense of the scale. The Crozet Gazette's November 2025 business briefs described last year's crawl as 85 vendors. Its walkable stretch ran from The Yellow Mug to Starr Hill, with an extra cluster of vendors in the Piedmont Place parking lot. Last year's printed map ran in the December Gazette and was also handed out at crawl locations. Check the December 2026 issue for this year's version.
The Gazette's 2025 crawl coverage named Piedmont Place participants including Smoked, Crozeli, Crozet Inspiration Station, Blue Ridge Bottle Shop, Crozet Creamery and Bar Botanical. That's last year's list, not a confirmed 2026 lineup. Still, it shows why Piedmont Place makes such a useful base for the day.
Two confirmed 2026 details:
- Chiles Peach Orchard lists a pop-up in downtown Crozet at the crawl, with apple cider, baked goods and apple-cider donuts. Its event page has the details.
- Bluebird & Co. now keeps a fridge of ready-made plant-based meals from Bar Botanical, available during Bluebird's business hours. The Gazette reported in September that Bar Botanical itself is closed at lunchtime, so the fridge is the way to get its food before the afternoon events.
Two O'Clock on Three Notch'd Road
The parade starts at 2 p.m. downtown and ends at the firehouse, where Santa, refreshments and a bounce house are waiting. The Crozet Volunteer Fire Department hosted the 2025 parade. That parade was listed from 2 to 3 p.m. The firehouse is at 5652 Three Notch'd Road. No 2026 route map or road-closure notice has been posted yet, so plan around the start time and the finish at the firehouse.
The parade's timing shapes the rest of the day. If last year's one-hour length holds this year, the parade finishes around 3 p.m. That leaves about two hours at Crozet Park before the festival closes at 5. Families with young children may want to stay downtown for the parade and Santa, then catch the shuttle to the park. A tasting ticket covers the whole afternoon, so you can also go to the park first and come back downtown later.
The Park, the Ticket and the Snow Date
The Winter Brews festival has changed how it charges. The festival's site says it is "FREE to the public this year." Proceeds support Crozet Park, which the festival describes as "community owned & operated." The park will have live music, local vendors and a cash bar. Festival publicity also lists a holiday market and a shotski. Sampling is still ticketed.
- Free entry ticket. Gets an adult in the gate but includes no tastings.
- Tasting ticket, $35. Unlimited samples from local breweries, cideries and distilleries.
- Early-bird four-pack, $100. Works out to $25 a person, $10 less per ticket than buying four tasting tickets separately.
Tickets are sold through the festival's ticket page. Starr Hill presents the festival and is listed as a 2026 sponsor. Starr Hill's taproom also sits at one end of last year's crawl route, so it links the downtown and park halves of the day.
The festival's breweries page lists a snow date of Saturday, December 12. Only the festival has announced a weather backup. If it moves, the crawl and parade may still go ahead on the 5th as scheduled. The 2026 lineup of brewers, cideries and distillers on that page is shown only as a panel of logos for now.
Dinner Without Moving the Car
The festival closes at 5, and the four places below are open into the evening. That makes Piedmont Place and the Square a natural place to end the day, especially for anyone who parked there in the morning.
- Starr Hill Crozet, 5391 Three Notch'd Road, open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays.
- Crozet Pizza, 5794 Three Notch'd Road, open 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays.
- Fardowners, 5773 The Square, open 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
- Smoked Kitchen & Tap at Piedmont Place, open from Wednesday dinner through Sunday, with online ordering.
These hours come from each restaurant's own website as of this fall. Large parties should check before heading over, since the whole town will be out that evening.
Piedmont Place keeps adding businesses. The Gazette's May 2026 business briefs reported that the Waynesboro Inspiration Station received a grant for a planned second Crozet location, a creative studio and children's boutique in the Virginia Metalcrafters Marketplace at Piedmont Place. No opening date was given. Last year's crawl already included a Crozet Inspiration Station stop.
A Sample Route for the Day
- Reserve shuttle seats when the festival's sign-up links go live in November.
- Park once at Piedmont Place, or start from the Old Trail stop, and shop the crawl in the morning.
- Pick up lunch from the Bar Botanical fridge at Bluebird & Co. or cider donuts at the Chiles pop-up.
- Watch the 2 p.m. parade and follow it to the firehouse on Three Notch'd Road.
- Ride to Crozet Park for the last stretch of the festival, which ends at 5.
- Take the return shuttle to Piedmont Place and have dinner at Fardowners, Smoked, Crozet Pizza or Starr Hill.
When the December Crozet Gazette comes out with this year's crawl map, use it to check which shops are at each end of the route before you set out.
