Louisa County Halloween Events 2026: Your Local Calendar

Louisa County's organized trick-or-treating for 2026 is booked into three places that spend the rest of the year doing other jobs. On October 22 it's the hangars at Louisa County Airport. On October 24 it's Court Square in the Town of Louisa. On October 31 it's a family farm that makes wine and beer on Jack Jouett Road. Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, but the county's calendar treats it as a ten-day run, not one night.

The season has already started. Louisa County Parks & Recreation held its 22nd Annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 10, with a scarecrow contest and a costume contest in the lineup. What follows is the rest of the calendar, in order, with addresses and times taken from the event listings.

The Week Before the Costumes

The days between now and Halloween week are full of smaller events. They mostly happen in the same handful of places the bigger events use later.

The Avenue ArtHouse at 102 Church Avenue in Louisa is running two Color Me Pumpkin colored-pencil classes with instructor Yvonne Agee, one at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, and one at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, according to Visit Louisa. That same building hosts the holiday market in December, so it shows up again at the end of this calendar.

Over at the lake, the Lake Anna Fall Passport runs through Sunday, October 18. Passports are picked up at Lake Anna Outfitters, 13708 Anna Point Lane in Mineral, and lead participants to local shops, restaurants, breweries and farmers markets.

Saturday, October 17, puts two things at one Mineral address. The Mineral Farmer's Market at 81 Louisa Avenue runs 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday through October 31, and the Louisa County Extension Master Gardeners host seasonal workshops there. The Louisa Humane Society is holding an adoption event at the market during the same hours that morning.

That same weekend, Southern Revere Cellars is giving its calendar over to local fundraisers. A Giving Words car-bash fundraiser runs from 1 to 5 p.m. on October 17, and an LYAA fundraiser follows from 2 to 6 p.m. on October 18, according to the Southern Revere events page. The venue comes up again on the last two days of the month.

Thursday, October 22: Trick-or-Treating in the Hangars

The airport event is the most unusual one on the list, and it's back for another year. Louisa County's own calendar says Treats on the Tarmac "returns for a second year," which means 2025 was the first.

The schedule comes in two parts. Food trucks start serving at 4 p.m., and hangar trick-or-treating runs from 5 to 7 p.m. The airport is at 335 Industrial Drive in Louisa, per the Visit Louisa listing. That's the same road as the county skatepark, which reopened at 540 Industrial Drive in September 2025.

The county lists this one on its public calendar under the Airport category. It falls on a Thursday, so it's the only weeknight trick-or-treat on this calendar.

Saturday, October 24: Downtown Closes for Boo Grass

Two days later, the Town of Louisa closes Court Square and the Courthouse Lawn at 100 West Main Street from 4 to 7 p.m. for Tricks, Treats and Boo Grass Beats.

The listing describes three things happening at once. There's a trunk-or-treat inside Court Square and trick-or-treating at downtown businesses. David Wade & Black Mountain play bluegrass live from the Courthouse Portico. The listing also promises local vendors, food trucks, face painting, a bounce house and a costume contest with prizes of local business swag and gift certificates.

On the 24th, the candy comes from the storefronts along Main Street, which makes the town's businesses part of the host list.

The same Saturday starts earlier out on Shannon Hill Road. The Louisa Humane Society's Empty Bowls benefit runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fifty-Third Winery, 13372 Shannon Hill Road. The two events don't overlap, so the afternoon benefit and the evening on Court Square fit into one day without a scheduling conflict.

October 30 and 31: Southern Revere Takes the Last Two Days

The final stretch belongs to Southern Revere Cellars at 1100 East Jack Jouett Road. The farm says it opened in December 2021 and calls itself a family farm crafting wine and beer onsite. Visit Louisa's profile of the business describes a family-owned tasting destination with a vineyard, a brewery and a tasting barn.

On Friday, October 30, Ghouls & Glow, a Halloween Par-Tee, runs from 6 to 9 p.m. It has a free nine-hole glow-in-the-dark mini-golf course, a live DJ and a food truck, and costumes are encouraged.

On Saturday, October 31, the Spooktacular Trunk or Treat & Market runs from noon to 4 p.m. at the same address and pairs a vendor market with the trunk-or-treat. Halloween itself lands on the one Saturday afternoon that a working winery has turned over to trick-or-treaters.

Dinner on the Mineral Side

Two Mineral businesses that opened in 2025 sit close to the market and the lake end of the calendar. The Lion's Den 1837, an upscale steakhouse in the space that used to be Tavern on the Rail, opened to the public on Valentine's Day 2025, Lake Anna Online reported. The Louisa County Chamber of Commerce lists it at 81 Tavern Road.

For something to bring home, The Market @ Meredith Farm opened in 2025 as a farm-goods grocery at 2820 Gardners Road in Mineral, according to Lake Anna Online. Hours for both are best confirmed directly before a holiday weekend.

December 5 Uses the Same Map

Once the costumes are put away, the next big date comes back to the same downtown spots. On Saturday, December 5, the Louisa Christmas Festival & Parade runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Courthouse Square, 100 West Main Street, with "A Charlie Brown Christmas" as the 2026 theme. The same morning, The Avenue ArtHouse at 102 Church Avenue hosts ART on the LAWN, its Holiday Market, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with local artists and the Dead Shell Oysters food truck. The square that hosts trunk-or-treat in October hosts the parade in December, and the building that teaches pumpkin drawing this week runs a holiday market seven weeks later.
